Jolene Barbara Paquette

Jolene Barbara Paquette, 64 of Herscher passed away quicker than expected on Saturday night, January 17, 2026, at Riverside Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on July 3, 1961, to Anthony Ploszay and JoAnne (Klatt) Ploszay in Amery, Wisconsin. She leaves behind her son Nicholas and her daughter Katie, who she was very proud of, her brother Brian Ploszay of Woodbury, Minnesota, Mark Ploszay of Holmen, Wisconsin, niece and nephew Annie Ploszay and Aaron Ploszay, special “sister-in-law” Linda Murray-Stollenwerk, special “niece” Daniella, and “nephew” Chris. Many sister friends and former students whom she loved as her own. Preceding Jolene in death were her husband Michael Paquette, her parents Anthony Ploszay and JoAnne (Klatt) Ploszay, Her in-laws Edmond Paquette and Donna (Cotton) Paquette, and “special” niece Mia Stollenwerk. Jolene graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a degree in Early Childhood Education and would go on to touch many of her students' lives in the decades that she taught and remained close to many of them. Jolene and Mike were married on October 7, 1995, in Amery, Wisconsin. They loved traveling together before they had their kids, but they both considered parenthood their greatest journey. Jolene was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. Her favorite team, however, was the Holmen Vikings, her nephew Aaron’s high school baseball team, and she was so looking forward to cheering him and the Wolfpack on for his freshman year of college spring ball. Jolene loved spending time with her family in Wisconsin, which she got to do a lot of this last year, starting with Annie and Aaron’s high school graduation and ending with being able to attend a Brewers game with the whole family and the Wisconsin All Stars game, where she got to witness Aaron pitch an inning on a major league field. Jolene loved to cook and bake, and she loved it even more when Annie joined her. She was proud of all Annie’s accomplishments as the president of her high school FFA chapter and could not wait to see all that Annie would continue to accomplish. Jolene loved to reminisce about old stories with her brothers Brian and Mark. Jolene was always down to meet her friends for a margarita or a glass of wine and talk for hours on end. She loved talking with Nick and Katie and enjoyed when they were all together. She was so very proud of all that they had accomplished at this point in their lives. A visitation will be held from 10-12 Saturday January 24 with a celebration of life immediately after at Life Church in Gilman. Memorials may be made to the family.
