Harold A. Piggush, age 91, of Kankakee, passed away at Riverside Medical Center on February 15th, 2019. He was born February 13th, 1928 in Kankakee to Raymond and Emma (Noffke) Piggush. Harold married Dolores Essington on October 2nd, 1949 at the Buckingham Methodist Church. Harold retired from General Foods after 36 years of employment. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, reading and watching auto racing daily on Speed TV. He was one of the original Kankakee Westview Spurs who built the sports field. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 2 years. Harold is survived by his wife, Dolores, of Kankakee; three sons; Glen (Chris) Piggush of Chebanse, Bruce (Jackie) Piggush of Mesa, AZ, Lyle (Julie) Piggush of Bradley; two sisters Louise Johnston of Kankakee, and Doris (Bill) Miller of Gilman; ten grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law; Geraldine (Essington) West and Mary Ellen (Essington) and Tom Greenwood. Harold is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; Fred and George Piggush; and one sister Laura Kroll. Visitation will be held at Schreffler Funeral Home in Kankakee on Wednesday, February 20th from 9 am until the time of the service at 11am. Pastor Miranda Dinges will officiate the service. A private burial will follow. Memorials may be made to Trinity Methodist Church or to the donor’s choice.
