Jolan K. Hartman

Jolan K. Csolkovits Hartman, age 93, of Jackson, TN went to be with the Lord on October 10, 2020 at Northbrook Healthcare Center in Jackson, TN. She was born November 12, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Geza and Regina Szabo Csolkovits. Jolan grew up in Traverse City, MI and returned to Illinois in 1952. On February 8, 1953 she married Merle Philip Hartman in Herscher, Illinois. Her husband preceded her in death on July 12, 1988. After his passing she moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she lived until May 2008. At that time, she relocated to Jackson, TN to be closer to her family. Her sister, Margaret Mumbower, of Jackson, TN, passed away on May 1, 2020. She is survived by nephews and nieces: James (Leann) Mumbower of Jackson, TN; Sheryl (Daniel) Yoder of El Dorado Springs, MO; Heather (Josh) Johnson of Warner Robins, GA: Kelsey Yoder of Colorado Springs, CO; Forrest Yoder of Pueblo West, CO; Allen (Carol) Hartman of Metropolis; IL, Karen (John) Thurston Stephens of Fort Collins, CO; Mistie (David) Whitlow of Herscher, IL, Jeremy (Heather) Thurston of Herscher, Chip Thurston of Kankakee, Darin Hartman of Watseka, Jeff (Angela) Hartman of Bradley, Brad (Katie) Hartman of Bourbonnais, Steven Stehle of Chapmansboro, TN, Connie Friedman of Forrest, IL, Derrick Babbs of Paxton, IL, Leslie Babbs of Pontiac, IL, Troy Babbs, Gary (Kim) Babbs of Pontiac, IL; Donna Stehle of Chatsworth, IL; Katherine (Randy) Rhoads of Fairbury, IL. She also leaves other nieces, nephews, and close relatives, including William (Loueen) Csolkovits of Elmhurst, IL; Joan (Joel) Csolkovits Marko of Huntley, IL; Klara Szirmai Haydu of Hungary and Genevieve Ponton Whilte of Barlett, TN. Jolan was a professional woman whose interests were in the medical field, social work and geriatrics. Other interests were in traveling, doing volunteer work, participating in Bible study groups, Social Work Organizations and she was a member and officer in the American Association of University Women. She was previously a member of College Church of the Nazarene in Bourbonnais, IL; Grace Baptist Church in Pompano Beach, FL, and the Englewood Baptist Church, Jackson, TN. Visitation will be held 11am – 12 pm, Friday, October 16, 2020 at Schreffler Funeral Home, Kankakee Chapel and the funeral will follow at 12 pm. Burial will take place at Kankakee Memorial Gardens, Kankakee, IL. Please wear a mask and follow all social distancing guidelines.
