Arlene M Bingley

Arlene M. Bingley, 80, beloved sweetheart of George William Bingley, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on August 24th after a life filled with love and laughter. She attended River Valley Christian Fellowship, a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, Punta Gorda, FL and a former member of Faith Reformed Church for 28 years. Mrs. Bingley was a devoted mother, daughter, sister and follower of Christ, spending much of her time serving others. She was a dedicated wife who worked to put her husband through two engineering degrees at Michigan State University while raising her daughters. She spent 25 years working in the Bingley’s business office. Mrs. Bingley was the picture of elegance and an exceptional hostess. She excelled at knitting, making over two dozen afghans for her children and grandchildren. She will long be admired for her artistic and musical talent, warm spirit and a giving heart. She completed over 30 puzzles, framed and game them to her family and friends in appreciation for their care. Over the years she and her husband enjoyed restoring their historic home, traveling, antiquing, and motorcycle rides. Born April 1, 1935 in Athens, MI, she is the daughter of the late Ovid F and Wilma (Bigelow) Roe. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, George Bingley, whom she married on August 27, 1955 in Union City, MI; four daughters, Deborah (Roger) Hardin, Karen (Fred) Prestinario, Teresa (Roger) DeYoung, and Tamilla (Mark) Anthos; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Anthony) Weil, Rebekah (Matthew) Stumpf, Jeremy (Jessica) DeYoung, Kimberly (Clint) Giles, Ashley (Joshua) Anderson, Michael and Mikaela Prestinario, Rachael and Brooke Anthos; sisters, Barbara Bercot and Linda Minier; and ten great grandchildren. When asked the secret to their marriage’s longevity, she previously said, “We strive to keep the Lord Jesus Christ at the center of our lives.” A home going celebration will be held on Saturday, August 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at River Valley Christian Fellowship, Cardinal Dr., Bradley, IL. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. and burial will follow at Kankakee Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
